The Mother Maryam Foundation "will pursue and support projects designed to improve the health and welfare of communities in economically disadvantaged areas in all parts of the world by helping the people in these communities meet their needs for clean water, medical care, nutritious food, educational opportunities, and other basic human needs." Article II, Certificate of Formation of the Mother Maryam Foundation for Humanitarian Development, Inc.
The Mother Maryam Foundation
We have formed a non-profit charitable organization called the Mother Maryam Foundation for Humanitarian Development.
The Mother Maryam Foundation is a 501(c)3 organization chartered in the state of Texas.
Currently, the Mother Maryam Foundation is raising funds to build a health clinic in the village of Zawrat in Sudan. This project will provide health education, primary and preventive care, and emergency services for the people of Zawrat and neighboring villages and islands. As our clinic project page details, many individuals and organizations including Rotary International have donated or pledged money, equipment, and personnel for the clinic. But we are still raising funds for constructing the building and providing it with water and electricity.
In addition, the Mother Maryam Foundation recently helped deliver wheelchairs to Sudan, in cooperation with other organizations. We plan to send another container of wheelchairs in the future. We hope eventually to help provide wheelchairs to the needy in Kenya and Uganda as well as Sudan.
After the village health clinic is built and providing health services, the Mother Maryam Foundation hopes to duplicate that project in communities in other parts of Sudan including Darfur. We also hope to duplicate the clean water project that we implemented in Kolomiseed, which has been providing safe clean drinking water since January 2002.
We are seeking grants in support of projects to help women in the village. One project will provide assistance for women to raise chickens, in order to raise the nutrition level of their family and to sell for income. Another project will provide assistance and training for farmers and for women to keep bees for honey production, also to enhance family nutrition and income.
We need your support. If you are interested in supporting our projects, contact us.
